BODYBALANCE™ - WHAT'S THAT?
Bodybalance™ is the yoga, t'ai chi and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centred and calm.
It's your personal time out from the stress and strains of daily life - a 55 minute group exercise-to-music class that brings your body and mind back into balance.
SO WHAT'S A TYPICAL CLASS LIKE?
Each class is made up of 45 minutes of simple but challenging exercises, followed by 10 minutes of relaxation and meditation.
- T'ai Chi warm-up
Leave your day behind as the easy, flowing moves from this ancient Chinese discipline warm your body. - Sun Salutations
A traditional yoga sequence to warm the body more deeply, stretching and strengthening key muscle groups. - Yoga Standing Strength
Poses such as warrior pose and triangle pose strengthen and tone your body. - Balances
Focus your concentration to meet the challenge of these poses. - Hip Openers
Stretches to produce greater flexibility and freedom of movement in the hips and lower back. - Core work
Pilates and yoga exercises strengthen the key abdominal and back muscles. - Twists and Forward Bends
Poses an stretches to create suppleness and flexibility in the hamstrings and back. - Relaxation and Meditation
A guided meditation to enhance the overall effects of the session, both mental and physiological.
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE TO DO BODYBALANCE™?
You don't need to be fit to experience the benefits of BODYBALANCE™ just physically active and able to move freely.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Wear comfortable clothes, but we'll do the class in bare feet because you need to feel full contact with the floor for the balancing and postural work.
You may also like to bring something warm to wear for the relaxation and meditation tracks.
Some clubs may ask you to bring a yoga mat and you may prefer to do so anyway, but it's not essential.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO BODYBALANCE™?
While you'll feel real benefits from coming to class just once a week, most people try to come three times a week.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
It usually takes about three classes to really get to grips with the feel and structure of BODYBALANCE™.
You might also feel a little muscle soreness at first but this will quickly be replaced with noticeable improvement in strength, flexibility and posture.
The great news is that you'll start to experience the stress reducing and spiritually renewing benefits of BODYBALANCE™ from your very first class.
